Sunday Drive

Today we got up and decided to do some new things...well, different things. We'd sort of done some of this, but none of it totally. First, we went to the Valley of the Temples to the Byodo-In Temple. This is a replica of a temple in Japan and is built without nails...very impressive if you ask me. Inside the temple is an 18ft Buddha statue and it's thought to be the largest Buddha carved since ancient times.
After this excursion, we had a yummy little lunch at Andy's Sandwiches & Smoothies...it's a little hole in the wall in Manoa...very cute and healthy. Then, we drove the Round Top Drive to Puu Ualakaa State Park where you can see Diamond Head and the entire city of Honolulu.

We continued the drive to Tantalus Drive which smells just like a spa. You know that scent when you walk in...those flowers grow here. I have no clue what they are, but it smelled delightful! We concluded the drive with a trip through Punchbowl Cemetery and came home for naps! Yep, we're old now...

Ahh, I recognize that! That's one of the places they've used as a filming location for LOST. It's beautiful. :)
We're coming to Honolulu in 2 weeks for a visit and that's one of the places we plan to see.

You will love it! Once you start watching, you won't be able to stop. :)
Filming has started back up for the show's final season. A few fans and I wanted to make the trip over while the show was still in production. We're taking the LOST Hummer tour while there, that's supposed to be alot of fun. Here's the link for his site..

Also, at the link below are many downtown Honolulu locations they've used. I'm sure you'll recognize many of the places. :)

Wow - that's cool. We see them filming a lot here...didn't realize this is the final season. We just had a friend here who's a huge fan...wish I'd known about this site earlier! Thanks for passing it along.

Oh darn! I wish I had given you the links to you sooner now too.
But yea, we learned a couple years ago that the producers were going to wrap up the story at the end of season 6. For us fans it's so bittersweet...we're getting answers to questions we've had since the beginning, but we hate to see it end!
Season 6 won't be on till late Jan. or early Feb. so if you start watching soon, you could be through the first 5 seasons before then and probabaly way before then lol, if you get hooked. It's amazing how quickly you can get through the episodes on DVD. :)
